1. About VerifAI
VerifAI is an artificial intelligence-based service designed to assist users in analysing and fact-checking digital content, including text, links, images, audio and video.
Users may interact with VerifAI through supported communication channels, including the VerifAI professional Instagram account.

2. Information We Process
When you interact with VerifAI, we may process information that you voluntarily provide to us, including:
- the text of messages sent to VerifAI;
- URLs or social media links submitted for analysis;
- images, audio files or videos submitted or referenced by you;
- publicly available content associated with a submitted URL;
- technical identifiers associated with the communication, such as an Instagram user identifier, message identifier and timestamps;
- information generated during the analysis, such as transcripts, extracted video frames, summaries, observations and fact-checking results;
- technical logs necessary to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service.
We do not intentionally request sensitive personal information. Users should avoid submitting private, confidential or sensitive personal information unless it is strictly necessary for the requested analysis.
3. Instagram Messages
When you send a direct message to the VerifAI Instagram account, Meta may transmit the message and associated technical information to the VerifAI service through the Instagram API.
VerifAI uses this information only as necessary to receive your request, analyse the submitted content, generate a response and operate the service.
Your use of Instagram is also subject to Meta’s own privacy policies and terms. Meta processes information independently in connection with its Instagram platform. This Privacy Policy describes the processing carried out by VerifAI after data is received by our systems.
4. Purpose of Processing
We process information for the following purposes:
- to receive and understand fact-checking or content-analysis requests;
- to download or access content explicitly submitted or referenced by the user;
- to transcribe audio when necessary;
- to analyse images, video frames, text and other submitted material using artificial intelligence;
- to generate summaries, observations and fact-checking results;
- to return results to the user;
- to maintain the security and technical operation of the service;
- to diagnose errors, prevent abuse and improve the reliability of the system.
We do not use private Instagram messages for advertising purposes.
5. Legal Basis
Where you voluntarily submit content to VerifAI and request an analysis, processing is carried out as necessary to provide the service you requested.
Certain technical processing, such as security logging, prevention of abuse and troubleshooting, may be carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest in maintaining a secure and reliable service.
Where consent is required by applicable law for a particular processing activity, we will request it before carrying out that processing.
6. Artificial Intelligence Processing
VerifAI uses artificial intelligence systems to analyse user-submitted content.
Depending on the content provided, automated processing may include:
- speech-to-text transcription;
- extraction and analysis of video frames;
- analysis of text and visual information;
- identification of claims or relevant statements;
- generation of summaries, observations and fact-checking assistance.
The resulting analysis is intended to assist users in evaluating information. It should not be considered an infallible determination of truth, professional advice or a legally binding decision.
VerifAI does not use this automated processing to make decisions that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects concerning users.
7. Data Hosting and Recipients
VerifAI is designed to perform its core artificial intelligence processing on infrastructure operated for the project rather than sending submitted content to external commercial AI services for analysis.
Personal information may nevertheless be processed by service providers that are technically necessary to provide the communication channel or infrastructure, including Meta when Instagram is used.
Access to VerifAI processing systems is restricted to authorised persons involved in operation, maintenance and security.
We do not sell users’ personal data.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including:
- completing the requested analysis;
- providing the result;
- diagnosing technical problems;
- maintaining service security;
- complying with applicable legal obligations.
Technical or operational data that is no longer required will be deleted or anonymised where appropriate.
We periodically review stored information and aim to avoid retaining identifiable personal information longer than necessary.
9. Sharing of Personal Data
We do not sell or rent personal data.
Information may be disclosed only when necessary:
- to technical service providers involved in delivering the service;
- to comply with applicable law or a lawful request from a competent authority;
- to protect the security, rights or integrity of VerifAI, its users or other persons.
Where service providers process personal data on our behalf, appropriate data-protection safeguards are applied where required.
10. International Data Transfers
Some third-party platforms used to communicate with VerifAI, particularly Meta/Instagram, may process information in countries outside the European Economic Area.
Where VerifAI itself transfers personal data internationally, any such transfer will be handled in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements and appropriate safeguards.
11. Your Data Protection Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:
- request access to personal data concerning you;
- request correction of inaccurate information;
- request deletion of your personal data;
- request restriction of processing;
- object to certain processing;
- request portability of your data where applicable;

- the Instagram username or account used to contact VerifAI;

Do not send passwords, access tokens or other authentication credentials.
After verifying the request where necessary, we will delete or anonymise the relevant personal information unless retention is required by applicable law or is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
13. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, accidental loss or destruction.
No internet-based system can guarantee absolute security, but we regularly review the technical measures used to operate VerifAI.
14. Children
VerifAI is not designed to intentionally collect personal data from children.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to VerifAI without appropriate authorisation, please contact info@bluebeehive.eu so that the information can be reviewed and, where appropriate, deleted.
15. Third-Party Content
Users may submit links or content hosted on third-party websites and social networks.
VerifAI may access that content solely for the purpose of carrying out the analysis requested by the user. Third-party websites and platforms operate under their own privacy policies and terms, which are outside the control of VerifAI.
Users should avoid submitting private information belonging to other people without an appropriate reason or legal basis.
16. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when VerifAI’s functionality, technical infrastructure or legal requirements change.
The most recent version will always be published on this page together with its date of last update.
