Safeguarding intangible cultural heritage through transformative learning within community-based art

Project Reference: 2022-1-FI01-KA220-ADU-000086697

Objectives

We want to increase the resilience of various forms of intangible cultural heritage by developing and sharing new tools for working with it in an educational and/or artistic setting. We will share methods applicable in various contexts and bring them to the attention of art educators, organisers and others working with heritage topics. We will learn and teach new skills in applying the latest technologies to record, process, transform and/or display elements of intangible cultural heritage.

Activities

We will implement a pilot group working process led by experienced art educators and heritage community members. We will train the leaders in the principles of communal art education and transformative learning, as well as the use of selected technological tools. We will co-design the pilot group processes together. The pilot group working will be recorded in multiple ways as appropriate, and a website will showcase the process and the digital toolkit that will be produced.

Impact

We will develop a digital toolkit that will be highly accessible and applicable to many contexts dealing with intangible cultural heritage. The toolkit and its surrounding website will provide highly illustrative contents showcasing intangible cultural heritage and the educational and artistic processes the project understakes. The use of image, sound, 2D and 3D video including volumetric video, will enable immersion into intangible heritage, and new technological skills for the field.
